Bennett, John Arnold Service No. FX 606923 Rank: Acting Leading Airman No 1 Naval Air Gunner School Date of Death: October 20, 1944 Age at Death: 18 Cemetery: Mountain Cemetery Yarmouth, N S Burial Place: Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada Son of Alfred Arnold and Gertrude Matilda Bennett, of Surbiton, Surrey, England. On the evening of October 20, 1944, two Anson aircraft (#11233 and #7146) on a training flight were returning to RCAF Station Yarmouth when they collided in mid-air. The two pilots and four Telegraphist Air Gunners were killed.
