Celestin was the son of Athanase Gaudet (b. 1794), son of Isidore Gaudet (b. 1768). Therese served as a Lieutenant Nursing Sister with the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps (RCAMC) during the Korean War. She was one of only 60 Canadian Nursing Sisters to serve in the Korean theatre. In 2005, during the Year of the Veteran, her service was formally honored by the Saulnierville Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 52.
