Therese was the daughter of Joseph Resther Gaudet (b. 1896) and Marie Agnes (Comeau) Gaudet (1904-1992), the brother of
Joseph Raymond Eymard Gaudet (1926-1946), husband of Robert Gordon, and father of Kim (Gordon) Lynn. Therese’s father’s
first name Resther is also spelled as Rester or Resthere in some records.
Her paternal grandparents were Celestin Cyrien Gaudet (1837-1929) and Emilie Gaudet (1856-1927). Celestin was the son of
Athanase Gaudet (b. 1794), son of Isidore Gaudet (b. 1768).
Therese served as a Lieutenant Nursing Sister with the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps (RCAMC) during the Korean War. She
was one of only 60 Canadian Nursing Sisters to serve in the Korean theatre. Unlike those in previous world wars, Therese and
her colleagues were fully integrated into the Regular Force, serving as both professional soldiers and medical specialists.
In 2005, during the Year of the Veteran, her service was formally honored by the Saulnierville Royal Canadian Legion Branch No.
