Grant Aaron Lockhart Service No. 444512 55th Battalion/ Royal Canadian Regiment Date of Birth: April 23, 1896 Place of Birth: South Hampton, Cumberland Co., NS Age at Enlistment: 19 Date of Enlistment: May 14, 1915 Place of Enlistment: Sussex, New Brunswick Trade: Labourer Next of Kin: Myrtle Lockhart (Sister) Grant Aaron Lockhart served for three years with the 55th Battalion and the Royal Canadian Regiment in France. He was wounded in action with severe gunshots to the neck and invalided home to Canada. Following his recovery he re-enlisted at the age of 22 on April 24, 1918 at Aldershot, Nova Scotia. During WWII he enlisted and served in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Following the end of WWII he also served with the Yarmouth Police force.
