The Wartime Heritage Association Declares Support For England's 'History Matters - Pass It On' Campaign

Wartime Heritage Group Explores Dover Castle |
The Wartime Heritage Association (440 Productions) has signed the The 'History Matters' declaration which states that "We believe that history matters. A society out of touch with its past cannot have confidence in its future. History defines, educates and inspires us and a better understanding of our shared history helps us to solve the problems we face as a nation. It lives on in our historic environment. As custodians of our past, we will be judged by generations to come. We must value it, nurture it and pass it on."
English Heritage - together with the National Trust in England, and other heritage organisations - is supporting 'the History Matters: Pass It On' campaign: "Our heritage - our historic buildings, landscapes, archaeology and gardens, and the art, books and machines that they contain - is a set of essential landmarks to guide our journey from the past to the future."
English Heritage urges visitors to declare their support for our heritage by visiting one of their properties. During the 2004 and 2005 British Performance Tours the Association's cast and crew visited Dover Castle and the Secret Wartime Tunnels, English Heritage properties.

historic sites like the Kent Battle of Britain Museum at Hawkinge and local cemeteries in Kent deepen participants knowledge and help them appreciate "the way it was" and the wartime sacrifices made by civilians and servicemen and women alike.
